Substance Use & Outpatient Treatment Clinical Supervisor

 

Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC), a nonprofit agency has been providing youth services in Southeast Los Angeles County since 1971 with a primary purpose of providing therapeutic counseling and assistance to at-risk, low income children, youth and their families.

 

Mission

The mission of HYC is to serve youth and their families by promoting the development of strong individuals and families in their community.  This is accomplished through education, therapeutic approaches, advocacy, and the utilization of community resources.

 

HYC has an immediate opening for a full-time Clinical Supervisor who will have an integral part in the Substance Use Outpatient Treatment Department as well as in the development of Clinicians, Substance Abuse Counselors, and Interns. Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for implementing clinical best practices for optimal quality of care to our clients.

 

  1. Provide clinical supervision to all counseling staff/interns in substance use treatment and prevention programs.

 

  1. Provide weekly group and individual clinical supervision to pre-licensed Masters level staff who are working towards licensure.

 

  1. Provide weekly treatment team meetings and case conferences to determine clinical necessity of counseling services based on the clinical assessment and evaluation of the patients.

 

  1. Provide consultation, training, and support to all counseling staff at multiple sites.

 

  1. Develop and implement in-service trainings for clinical programs and services.

 

  1. Review clinical documentation (progress notes, intakes, treatment plans, discharge plans, etc.). In addition, supervise staff case files on a regular basis.

 

  1. Responsible for the verification of diagnosis from Axis V.

 

  1. In collaboration with Quality Assurance Manager, monitor and develop policies and procedures to ensure programs are in compliance with policies, rules and regulations.

 

  1. May participate in grant development.

 

  1. Attend assigned meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Valid California License in Psychology, or LCSW, LMFT, LPCC.

  2. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of use, abuse and treatment of illicit drugs and addiction.

  3. Minimum of 4-6 years post licensed clinical supervision or program management experience.

  4. Verification of 6 hours of Clinical Supervision training CEUs

  5. Minimum 5 years direct practice experience.

  6. Experience in program administration, training direction, and working with a      

      community based organization.

  1. Ability to successfully pass a TB screening test.

            5.  Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residence

            6.  Willingness to work a flexible schedule and on weekends.

   7.  Valid California state driver’s license.

            8.  Current auto insurance, and a good driving record.

           9.  Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities.

         10. Excellent administrative and verbal skills.

 

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

            1. CAMFT/AAMFT Approved Supervisor status.

            2. Cultural diversity and multi-lingual skills (Spanish-speaking preferred but not required).
